Prepare for your Òran na Mara adventure.

Whether you visit in the summer and spend your days exploring the beauty of the landscape, or you’re snuggling up to enjoy Hygge on Harris, your holiday means a lot to us.

Are there facilities for children?

Yes, we have a travel cot with bedding, a highchair and a set of children’s crockery and cutlery.  You’ll find a stock of games and toys and the beaches of Harris are a paradise for little ones!

Can I bring dogs?

We are happy to accept one or two small well-behaved dogs at Òran na Mara, although they are not allowed in bedrooms or on furnishings and must remain in the utility room or your own cage at night.

How about Wi-Fi?

We have unlimited BT Broadband Wi-Fi throughout the house, ready for you to use when you’re not out exploring. Don’t forget that you can make calls on your mobile through the Wi-Fi facility.

Is there a phone signal?

It depends on your network or the ones you can roam onto.  EE now has 4G coverage in our area and over much of Harris, and you can get signal by the gate on Vodafone. We do have a complimentary landline you are welcome to use.

What clothing shall I bring?

Bring warm clothes, layers, boots and waterproofs for the great outdoors! The summer sun can be strong, so sun cream is a must. To make the most of the beaches you may want to bring wet suits and bathing gear.

What about food and drink?

Harris has some excellent grocery shops and a number of restaurants and cafés.  You can even have meals delivered to the house or cooked there for you!  Wine, spirits and seafood are all in good supply and Òran na Mara has two fridges and two freezers to keep things fresh.
